Setup guides / Codex CLI

Codex CLI

Anthropic-style tools (Claude Code)

https://api.bidgrow.shop

OpenAI-style tools (Codex, Cursor, SDKs)

https://api.bidgrow.shop/v1

Base URL: https://api.bidgrow.shop/v1. Codex talks to /v1/responses.

1. Set your key

macOS / Linux:

bash
export BIDGROW_API_KEY="sk-your-key"

Windows PowerShell:

powershell
setx BIDGROW_API_KEY "sk-your-key"

(open a new terminal after setx)

2. Edit the config

File: ~/.codex/config.toml (Windows: %USERPROFILE%\.codex\config.toml).

toml
model = "claude-opus-5-5"
model_provider = "bidgrow"

[model_providers.bidgrow]
name = "bidgrow"
base_url = "https://api.bidgrow.shop/v1"
env_key = "BIDGROW_API_KEY"
wire_api = "responses"

Replace claude-opus-5-5 with a model name listed for your key at https://bidgrow.shop/check.

3. Run

bash
codex

Notes

  • wire_api = "responses" is the only value current Codex versions accept ("chat" was removed). It is also the default.
  • Put model_provider settings in the user-level ~/.codex/config.toml; project-local .codex/config.toml files may ignore them.
  • Remove old unused [model_providers.*] blocks that still say wire_api = "chat"; they can stop Codex from starting.
  • Keys activate on first use and the validity countdown starts then. Usage: https://bidgrow.shop/check.

Verification status

Config format follows the current OpenAI Codex docs (wire_api = "chat" is no longer supported). If you get 404 errors or empty streams on /v1/responses, contact the seller you bought your key from.
